The art of Byzantine Music and Nektaria Karantzi in Hollywood

The ethereal voice of Nektaria Karantzis, the leading Greek Byzantine hymn singer who has inspired women from all over the world to pursue the art of chanting, has been selected by Hollywood producers for the upcoming film Hex by Odeon and Parma Records.

From September 15th to October 31st, her voice is heard at the historic theater in Los Angeles, in an immersive theatrical experience that is a prequel to the upcoming motion picture Hex and revives the atmosphere of old Hollywood.

In an intense theatrical and cinematic struggle between good and evil, Byzantine hymnody is used to represent good and divine light in the face of evil, through the story of a young woman.

The special credits of this production are dominated by the name of American producer Mark Binder, founder of IMN Creative, known for its advanced immersive Dolby Atmos mixing stages, who underwrites the theatrical production together with Chris Anastas, co-founder of SoundFi.

Mark Binder recorded Nektarias Karantzis' vocals for the needs of the theater and the upcoming film production in the studio of the Radio of Latvia, where the film's soundtrack was also recorded by the leading British composer Martyn Axe.

Nektaria Karantzi said on her Facebook profile: "Experience working with Mark Binder and all the wonderful team of a wonderful American production, including the great British composer Martyn Ax, the founder of SoundFi Systems, Chris Anastas and the popular young actress Eva Ariel Binder".

The theatrical production takes place at the historic Los Angeles theater on famous Broadway Street, an imposing venue built in the late 1930s that has hosted some of Hollywood's greatest productions, including Charlie Chaplin's City of Light.
